Erika Zekos
Erika Zekos is a public installation artist, designer and educator whose multi-disciplinary practice explores a variety of themes informed by a love of architecture and landscapes. Her projects consider the intersection of design and the built and natural environments.
Most are created for a specific place and time, addressing questions of site in both tangible and ephemeral ways, while inviting new perspectives on the world around us. Although the materiality of her work varies, each installation uses humble, accessible resources and invites community participation in the making or interpretation through engagement.
Viewers become active participants in the work; shaping the meaning of the art through interactions, such as making music, recording their ideas, occupying space, or leaving a mark. Erika has completed numerous public art installations in Boston and western MA.
